Who Am I?
Hi, I’m Christopher Haylett. I’m a marketing manager for an international software development company by day, and on the side I create content across Instagram, Threads, TikTok, here on Substack, and ocassionally on YouTube as “The Nerdy Christian.”
I created The Nerdy Christian because I have a strong interest in many things “nerdy,” across all sorts of categories. One day, I was scrolling between posts of pages I follow that included maps, stats, geopolitics, theology, word studies, and Lord of the Rings memes and thought, “You know what? It would be really cool if a page existed that included a bit of all of these things. Hey, I think I’d be able to make something like that!”
After searching for @thenerdychristian and discovering it wasn’t yet taken on most platforms, I created the page. The rest is history!
I hold a unique background that I believe God has equipped me with to speak to the kinds of things I do today. I grew up across the world as a military kid (Japan is my favorite place I’ve lived), I hold a B.S. in Global Development Studies from Seattle Pacific University, I have an M.Sc. in International Business, I’ve passed the Foreign Service Officer Test, I’ve traveled thoroughly, I work in tech today, and I have a love for soaking up information and sharing it with others!
